The Mustang football team is the college football team of California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. The team plays its home games in Alex G. Spanos Stadium. The current head coach is Tim Walsh, who began his tenure in 2009. Cal Poly will play its 91st season this fall. Football was first played on the Cal Poly campus in 1916.
